Most Favourite Oprah Moments

Friday, March 17th, 2006

Oprah is a brand…Oprah is a freakin’ brand, no matter from which angle you see it…Oprah is a brand…bear with it.

She’s freakin’ rich, too. Don’t ask for evidence, I know you know.

I’m a fan of Oprah…and I have my share of my most favourite Oprah moments also:

1. Remember the episode when she actually gave out free Pontiacs to her appropriately highly-ecstatic audience while chanting, "Everybody’s got a car!!! Everybody’s got a car!!!"? That one got my neck hair standing, seriously. The euphoric elements really touched me in the most tragic way; I ended up smiling even though I did not get a single damned car.

2. It is the Oprah episode that gave birth to the idiom "Jump the Couch" which describes the action of a supposedly sane grown man performing couch-trampolinizing. The idiomsetter also kept shouting a little too gleefully and jubilantly so as to blur his words into a thin line between "Everybody’s got a car! Everybody’s got a car!" and "Crazy gluey deli bar! Crazy gluey deli bar!".  And all that in addition to his all-running-all-shouting routines Mr. Cruise perfected during The War of the World? Geez, I admire this dude.

3. Sometimes a little dance from a former and potential future sexiest man alive can brighten up a girl’s day (or a whole bunch of screaming estrogen-producing beings in this case). All this current significant half of the brangelina club had to do was to shake a little booty and we can start talkin’ real effects here…priceless…for a clearer version: watch Troy…talk about Hollywood’s stud muffin…

4. He’s Oprah-proclaimed "Interior designer cutie-pie", and there are always surprises when Nate graces an episode. But my favourite remains the one where a friend of Nate called Ty came along. That Ty really changed my opinions about cover models. Like, who says a super cute ex-model with great abs and awesome sense of humour can’t be an extremely capable designer? Like, that’s hot, totally.
